Come to Abba ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Bible study group finder built by Gerardo Herrera. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password managed by Firebase Authentication. You may optionally add a profile photo.
Group and event data. When you create or join a Bible study group, we store the group details (title, description, city, meeting schedule) and your membership. Event RSVPs and carpool offers you create are also stored.
Device tokens. We collect Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens so we can send you push notifications about upcoming events and group activity. You can disable notifications in your device settings at any time.
Photos. If you upload a profile photo or group background image, the image is stored in Firebase Storage and linked to your account or group.
Location. The app may request location permission to show Bible study groups near you. Location data is used on-device only and is not stored on our servers.
We use your information to operate the app: displaying groups, sending event reminders, showing member directories, and enabling carpool coordination. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
The app uses the following Google/Firebase services, each governed by Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy:
Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days. Group content you created (posts, events) may remain visible to other members but will no longer be linked to your identity.
Come to Abba is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We use Firebase's built-in security features including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), Firestore security rules, and Firebase Authentication to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
You can access, update, or delete your personal information through the app's profile screen at any time. You can also contact us to request a copy of your data or its deletion.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on this page with an updated effective date.
